Make Your Bed / It’s one of the simplest things you can do to feel a little bit more OK and in control. Retired United States Navy officer William H. McRaven once said in a commencement speech at the University of Texas that if you want to change the world, you should start by making your bed.

“If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day,” he advised. “It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.”

And also, is there anything more satisfying than crawling into a made bed at the end of a long day?
